Jaume d'Urgell 陈建军
Jaume d'Urgell (born in Barcelona in 1973) is the Secretary General of the International Human Rights Foundation (IHRF), an international organization dedicated to the promotion, dissemination and education of human rights.
Since 1997, he has been a speaker at numerous seminars, conferences and public events organized by or in collaboration with the faculties and student associations of various Spanish universities. From 2006 to 2009, he was a researcher at the Department of Law and International Relations of the EuroMed University Research Institute of the Complutense University of Madrid.
Between 2007 and 2012, d'Urgell directed the Agrupación Especial Ateneísta de Retórica y Elocuencia within the Ateneo Científico, Literario y Artístico de Madrid. From 2009 to 2013, he was a member of the jury of the organizing committee of the Nicolás Salmerón Human Rights Awards. He was also President of the International Human Rights Foundation from 2011 to 2015.
Since 2013, as a member of the EMUI EuroMed University Research Institute at the Complutense University of Madrid, he has coordinated, together with Dr. Román Reyes, the postgraduate diploma program "Critical Thinking and Human Rights in Contemporary Society" (reference D-0306). He teaches various training courses on topics such as the abolition of military criminal jurisdiction in times of peace, assistance to detainees and protocols of conduct in cases of arbitrary detention, and communication techniques for the defense of human rights.
Since 2014, d'Urgell has chaired the Social Council of EMUI EuroMed University. His contributions to the field have been recognized with the Emilio Castelar Award for the Defense of Freedoms in 2011 and the Mason of the Year Award from the Grand Lodge of Spain in 2021.
