Jaume d'Urgell 陈建军
Jaume d'Urgell, born in Barcelona in 1973, currently serves as Secretary General of the International Human Rights Foundation (IHRF), an organisation devoted to the advancement, dissemination, and education of human rights on a global scale.
Since 1997, he has been an invited speaker at a wide array of seminars, conferences, and public events, organised in partnership with the faculties and student associations of various Spanish universities. From 2006 to 2009, he conducted research within the Department of Law and International Relations at the EuroMed University Research Institute, Complutense University of Madrid.
Between 2007 and 2012, Mr d'Urgell presided over the Agrupación Especial Ateneísta de Retórica y Elocuencia at the Ateneo Científico, Literario y Artístico de Madrid. From 2009 to 2013, he served as a member of the jury on the organising committee of the Nicolás Salmerón Human Rights Awards and held the post of President of the International Human Rights Foundation from 2011 to 2015.
Since 2013, as a member of the EMUI EuroMed University Research Institute at the Complutense University of Madrid, he has co-ordinated, in collaboration with Dr Román Reyes, the postgraduate diploma programme "Critical Thinking and Human Rights in Contemporary Society" (reference D-0306). He also delivers courses on topics including the abolition of military criminal jurisdiction during peacetime, support for detainees, protocols for cases of arbitrary detention, and communication strategies for the defence of human rights.
Since 2014, Mr d'Urgell has chaired the Social Council of the EMUI EuroMed University. His significant contributions to the field have been recognised with the Emilio Castelar Award for the Defence of Freedoms in 2011, as well as the Mason of the Year Award from the Grand Lodge of Spain in 2021.
